Regular Season Round 6: Beroe - Yambol 64-75

There was a minor upset in Stara Zagora where one of their biggest challengers Beroe (2-3) was defeated by seventh ranked Yambol (2-3) 75-64 on Tuesday. Yambol forced 20 Beroe turnovers. The best player for the winners was the former international Ivan Lilov (194-88) who scored 24 points and 4 assists. American guard Eric McGill (190-96, college: SIU) chipped in 16 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Cadarian Raines (205-90, college: Virginia Tech) who recorded a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds and international swingman Nikolay Stoyanov (194-94) added 12 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Four Beroe players scored in double figures. Yambol moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Cherno More and Beroe. Yambol will face Chernomorets (#8) in Burgas in the next round. Beroe will play on the road against Cherno More in Varna and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
