Regular Season Round 11: Aabyhoj - Herlev 68-85

An interesting game for Herlev (6-3) which played road game in Aabyhoj against 4th placed Aabyhoj (3-5). Second ranked Herlev had an easy win 85-68. The game was mostly controlled by Herlev. Aabyhoj managed to win third quarter 27-23. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. Herlev outrebounded Aabyhoj 40-25 including a 35-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. International forward Emilie Hesseldal (186-90, college: Colorado St.) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 14 rebounds and 6 assists. International forward Laura Ziegler (186-2) contributed with 18 points and 8 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) for the winners. International forward Malene Pedersen (180-1) answered with 27 points and 8 rebounds (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) and international guard Alberte Rimdal (174-2) added 14 points and 4 steals in the effort for Aabyhoj. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Herlev maintains second place with 6-3 record behind leader Amager. Aabyhoj at the other side keeps the fourth position with five games lost. Herlev are looking forward to face league's leader Amager in Kastrup in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Aabyhoj will play at home against SISU and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
