Regular Season Round 14: Botas - Hatay 72-64

There was no surprise in Adana where 9th ranked Hatay (4-5) was defeated by sixth ranked Botas (7-5) 72-64 on Friday. Botas looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was Russian forward Marina Bas (194-85) who had a double-double by scoring 13 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists. American power forward Elizabeth Williams (190-93, college: Duke) chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds. Five Botas players scored in double figures. American swingman Alexis Prince (188-94, college: Baylor) produced 18 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and Senegalese-Spanish center Astou Ndour (198-94) added 14 points and 11 rebounds respectively for the guests. Botas have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Cankaya. Hatay lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with five games lost. Botas will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Hatay will play at home against Adana Basket (#13) and is hoping to prove to their fans that they can break losing series.
