Regular Season Round 13: Rocks - Flames 94-78

No shocking result in a game in Mattersburg where second ranked Rocks (7-1) defeated 8th ranked Flames (3-4) 94-78 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Rocks. Flames was better in fourth quarter 28-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. American center Gary Ware (205-83, college: Purdue) fired 30 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Canadian center Corey Hallett (210-84, college: Monmouth) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points and 15 rebounds. Four Rocks players scored in double figures. Forward Ben Seipt (196-96) produced 29 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Lorenz Gerstendorfer (192-98) added 15 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Rocks have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain second place with 7-1 record having just seven point less than leader Blackbirds. Loser Flames keep the eighth position with four games lost. Rocks will face Furstenfeld Panthers (#4) on the road in the next round.
