Regular Season Round 8: Brasov - Satu Mare 59-86

The game between Top Four teams took place in Brasov. 4th ranked host Brasov (5-3) was smashed by top-ranked Satu Mare (7-0) 86-59. The game was mostly controlled by Satu Mare. Brasov managed to win third quarter 15-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Brasov 45-29 including a 34-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of American power forward Patricia Bright (193-91, college: Oregon St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 30 points and 14 rebounds and the other American import swingman Erica Covile (185-94, college: Temple) who added 8 points and 15 rebounds during the contest. American swingman Sara Dickey (177-95, college: Evansville) responded with 17 points and 4 assists and Serbian Biljana Pesovic (180-83) scored 11 points and 9 rebounds. Brasov's coach Daniel Calancea gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Satu Mare have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 7-0 record, which they share with Sf.Gheorghe. Brasov at the other side keeps the fourth place with three games lost. They share the position with Targoviste. Satu Mare is looking forward to face CSM Targoviste (#5) at home in the next round. Brasov will play against Oradea and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
