An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Muenster. Third ranked Muenster faced their biggest opponent Koeln. Host Muenster (6-3) smashed guests from Koeln (5-2) 93-71. It was a key game for the second position in North. Muenster outrebounded Koeln 41-26 including a 28-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. American point guard Marck Coffin (193-91, college: Idaho Coll.) scored 17 points and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Stefan Wess (204-94) chipped in 12 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side American point guard Vincent Golson (173-94, college: CSUDH) responded with 20 points and 8 assists and center Yannick Kneesch (204-96) scored 11 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Muenster have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place in North. Newly promoted Koeln dropped to the third position with two games lost. Muenster will meet Rist Wedel (#12) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Koeln will play against Duesseldorf (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
