An interesting game took place in Yalova where higher ranked Samsun (6-5) was upset on the court of fifteenth ranked Yalova (2-7) 115-108 on Saturday. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Samsun. Yalova made 32-of-37 free shots (86.5 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Samsun turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Samsun was plagued by 32 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for American point guard Lamont Jones (183-90, college: Iona) who led his team to a victory scoring 34 points (!!!) and 7 assists. Guard Huseyin Kandemir (194-95) helped adding 17 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. American guard Kahlil Dukes (183-95, college: Niagara, agency: Alti Sport) responded with 25 points and 5 assists and forward Can Ozcan (202-89) scored 17 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Yalova maintains fifteenth place with 2-7 record. Newly promoted Samsun dropped to the sixth position with five games lost. Yalova will face higher ranked Final Spor (#13) in Bursa in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
