An interesting game for Montana 2003 (9-1) which hosted in Montana 3rd placed Slavia (3-3). First ranked Montana 2003 had an easy win 91-48. Montana 2003 dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Slavia's 26 and made 20-of-23 free shots (87.0 percent) during the game. Montana 2003 forced 23 Slavia turnovers and outrebounded them 58-18 including a 21-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 34 assists comparing to just 17 passes made by Slavia's players. It was a good game for international center Aleksandra Petrova (190-98) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds. American center Akela Maize (196-96, college: NC State) contributed with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 14 rebounds for the winners. Four Montana 2003 players scored in double figures. Montana 2003's coach Stefan Mihaylov felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Center Elena Dimova (190-0) answered with 11 points and 7 rebounds and swingman Maria Svetoslavova (180-93) added 13 points in the effort for Slavia. Newly promoted Montana 2003 maintains first place with 9-1 record. Slavia at the other side keeps the third position with three games lost. Montana 2003 are looking forward to face Academic PL (#5) in Plovdiv in the next round. Slavia will play on the road against the league's second-placed Beroe in Stara Zagora and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
