There was a minor upset in Istanbul where 8th ranked Buyukcekmece (5-7) was defeated by tenth ranked Besiktas (6-7) 84-77. International Sehmus Hazer (190-99) nailed 14 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side and American guard James Blackmon-Jr (193-95, college: Indiana) accounted for 16 points. American Devin Oliver (204-92, college: Dayton) came up with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 15 rebounds and 5 assists and British center Gabriel Olaseni (211-91, college: Iowa) added 21 points and 10 rebounds respectively for Buyukcekmece in the defeat. Four Buyukcekmece players scored in double figures. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Besiktas. They moved-up to eighth place. Buyukcekmece at the other side dropped to the tenth position with seven games lost. Besiktas' next round opponent will be higher ranked Afyon Bld (#5) in Afyonkarahisar and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Buyukcekmece will play at home against Fethiye (#16) and hope to win that game.
