The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Dukes as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Dukes defeated 5th ranked BC Vienna in Klosterneuburg 69-60. BC Vienna was ahead by 8 points at the halftime before a 26-8 third quarter run of Dukes. They dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to BC Vienna's 28. They outrebounded BC Vienna 44-25 including a 31-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a good game for the former international guard Valentin Bauer (183-94, college: Mars Hill) who led his team to a victory with 20 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists. Nigerian-American forward Ami Lakoju (206-95, college: UCSB) contributed with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. Israeli forward Anton Shoutvin (207-89) replied with 12 points and American guard Alex Robinson (185-95, college: TCU, agency: Network Sports International) added 7 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for BC Vienna. As mentioned above they took over a top position. BC Vienna at the other side keeps the fifth place with five games lost. They share the position with St.Poelten. BC Vienna will play next round against Arkadia Lions trying to get back on the winning streak. Dukes will try to continue on its current victory against second ranked UBSC Graz on the road.
