Regular Season Round 10: Giessen 2 - Coburg 89-87

Important game to mention about took place in Giessen. Fifth ranked Giessen 2 (5-3) saved a 2-point victory at home edging 3rd ranked Coburg (6-4) 89-87 on Sunday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Coburg. Coburg was plagued by 30 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international Johannes Lischka (203-87) who helped to win the game recording 35 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds. American swingman Donte Nicholas (196-87, college: Fresno Pacific) contributed with 16 points and 5 assists (made all of his ten free throws !!!) for the winners. Four Giessen 2 players scored in double figures. Point guard Elias Baggette (181-2) replied with 21 points and point guard Constantin Ebert (183-96) added 19 points in the effort for Coburg. Coburg's coach Valentino Lott tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Giessen 2 maintains fifth position in South with 5-3 record. Coburg at the other side keeps the third place with four games lost. Giessen 2 will play against Arvato College Wizards (#7) in Karlsruhe in the next round. Coburg will play at home against Muenchen 2 (#6) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
