Regular Season Round 12: Arkadia - St.Poelten 81-84

Tenth-ranked Arkadia Lions (1-10) made lots of trouble for seventh ranked UBC St. Poelten (6-5) in Traiskirchen on Sunday. The visitors from St.Poelten managed to secure only three-point victory 84-81. However their fans expected easier game. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 26-19. But Arkadia Lions won second period 21-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. UBC St. Poelten shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 54.5 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Arkadia Lions were plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was the former international forward Florian Trmal (199-89, agency: Dynamics Global Management) who scored 20 points and 8 assists. Guard Roman Jagsch (180-92) chipped in 20 points and 4 assists. Four UBC St. Poelten players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Croatian forward Dani Koljanin (202-96, college: UALR) who recorded 29 points and 8 rebounds and Australian-British forward Adam Thoseby (198-91, college: GSW) added 18 points and 4 assists respectively. UBC St. Poelten moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Vienna. Arkadia Lions lost third consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with ten games lost. UBC St. Poelten will face higher ranked Kapfenberg Bulls (#4) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Arkadia Lions will play against BC Vienna (#5) and hope to win that game.
