Regular Season Round 12: Olivais - Vagos 73-83

There was a small surprise in Coimbra where eighth ranked Vagos (4-5) defeated 6th ranked Olivais (4-8) 83-73. The winners were led by American point guard Chelsie Schweers (170-89, college: CNU) who scored that evening 32 points and 5 rebounds and forward Gabriela Falcao (183-4) supported her with 11 points and 6 rebounds. Four Vagos players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 37 points (!!!) and 14 rebounds (on 14-of-17 shooting from the field) by American forward Kendrian Elliott (186-97, college: Tulsa) did not help to save the game for Olivais. Brazilian power forward Julia Torres (190-93, college: MWSU) added 13 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists. Vagos moved-up to sixth place. Defending champion Olivais dropped to the seventh position with eight games lost. Vagos will play against league's leader Benfica in Lisbona in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Olivais will play at home against CAB Madeira (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
