Regular Season Round 22: Suduva-Mantinga - Zalgiris II 75-78

The most exciting game of round 22 in the NKL took place in Marijampole. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of their biggest opponent Suduva-Mantinga (13-5) to third ranked Zalgiris II (12-6) 78-75 on Wednesday evening. Worth to mention a great performance of swingman Mantas Rubstavicius (198-2) who helped to win the game recording 18 points. Center Giedrius Bergaudas (212-0) contributed with 14 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Zalgiris II's coach Arvydas Gronskis used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. The former international power forward Sarunas Beniusis (206-93) replied with 20 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) and the former international Aurimas Kieza (199-82, college: Hofstra) added 9 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Suduva-Mantinga. Zalgiris II maintains third position with 12-6 record behind leader Jonava. Suduva-Mantinga at the other side keeps the second place with five games lost. Zalgiris II are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Silales Lusis (#15) in Rietavas in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Suduva-Mantinga will play on the road against Vilkaviskis (#12) and is hoping to win this game.
