Regular Season Round 15: Mladost ZE - Novi Pazar 97-91

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Mladost ZE as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Mladost ZE defeated 7th ranked Novi Pazar in Zemun 97-91. The hosts were ahead by 10 points but lost the second period ending it with a 6-point deficit before their 20-14 run, which allowed them to win the game. Mladost ZE dominated on the defensive end, holding Novi Pazar to just 7 points in second quarter. They made 28-of-33 charity shots (84.8 percent) during the game. Novi Pazar was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for American swingman Trey Drechsel (198-96, college: GCU) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 13 rebounds and 8 assists (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!). Nigerian forward Martins Igbanu (203-97, college: Tulsa) contributed with a double-double by scoring 30 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. American point guard Patrick Rembert (185-90, college: UC Irvine) answered with 22 points and 8 assists (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!) and naturalized Bosnian point guard Aleksej Nesovic (189-85) added 18 points and 5 assists in the effort for Novi Pazar. Four Novi Pazar players scored in double figures. The victory was the ninth consecutive win for Mladost ZE. As mentioned above they took over a top position. Novi Pazar at the other side dropped to the sixth place with six games lost. Novi Pazar will play next round against strong Zlatibor trying to get back on the winning streak. Mladost ZE will try to continue on its current victory against eleventh ranked Dunav SB at Stari Banovci.
