Regular Season Round 9: Goettingen - Osnabrueck 93-73

The most shocking disappointment of round 9 in the DBBL was a road defeat of 4th placed Osnabrueck (4-3) by eighth ranked Goettingen (3-5) who outscored them by 20 points 93-73. It ended the three-game winning streak of Osnabrueck. Goettingen looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Osnabrueck's players. International point guard Jennifer Crowder (164-96) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 19 assists for the winners and Australian-British forward Samantha Roscoe (190-95, college: N.Dakota) chipped in 23 points. Five Goettingen players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American forward Samantha Fuehring (190-97, college: Louisville) with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds and the other American import guard Allazia Blockton (183, college: Marquette) scored 19 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Goettingen moved-up to seventh place. Osnabrueck at the other side keeps the fourth position with three games lost. They share it with XCYDE Angels. Goettingen are looking forward to face Blue Dolphins (#8) in Marburg in the next round. Osnabrueck will play at home against Eisvogel Freiburg (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
