Regular Season Round 14: Afyon - Besiktas 73-96

There was a minor upset when 5th ranked Afyon Bld (7-7) was outscored by eighth ranked Besiktas (7-7) in Afyonkarahisar 96-73. Besiktas outrebounded Afyon Bld 42-25 including a 30-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Besiktas especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.9 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. International power forward Alperen Sengun (205-2) had a double-double by scoring 23 points, 17 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and swingman Egehan Arna (202-97) chipped in 14 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Mexican Francisco Cruz (191-89, college: Wyoming) responded with 22 points and 4 assists and American point guard Chris Wright (185-89, college: Georgetown) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points, 10 assists and 4 steals. Five Besiktas and four Afyon Bld players scored in double figures. Besiktas have an impressive six-game winning streak. They moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Afyon. Besiktas will play against league's second-placed Pinar Karsiyaka at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Afyon Bld will play against Fethiye (#16) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
