Regular Season Round 14: Darussafaka - Tofas 72-85

There was a surprise result when eleventh ranked Tofas (6-7) defeated higher ranked Dacka (6-7) in Istanbul 85-72. Tofas made 18-of-20 charity shots (90.0 percent) during the game. Dacka was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. American guard Semaj Christon (190-92, college: Xavier) scored 13 points and 7 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Croatian forward Tomislav Zubcic (211-90) chipped in 18 points during the contest. American Andrew Andrews (188-93, college: Washington) responded with 17 points and his fellow American import center Grant Jerrett (208-93, college: Arizona) scored 14 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Dacka's coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Tofas moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Darussafaka and Buyukcekmece. Tofas will play against higher ranked Turk Telekom (#4) in Ankara in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Dacka's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Istanbul Anadolu Efes.
