The game in Kedainiai supposed to be quite interesting. Fifth ranked P.Zvaigzdes (7-5) played at the court of 6th ranked Nevezis (5-6). P.Zvaigzdes smashed Nevezis 81-58 on Monday. The game was mostly controlled by P.Zvaigzdes. Nevezis managed to win third quarter 20-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. P.Zvaigzdes forced 20 Nevezis turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Edgaras Elionis orchestrated the victory by scoring 16 points and 6 rebounds. American-Argentinian center Daniel Amigo (208-95, college: Denver) contributed with 6 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. P.Zvaigzdes' coach Gediminas Petrauskas felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Grantas Vasiliauskas (205-99) replied with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 14 rebounds and American guard Sedrick Barefield (188-96, college: Utah, agency: Wasserman) added 17 points and 4 assists in the effort for Nevezis. P.Zvaigzdes have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place. Nevezis lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with six games lost. P.Zvaigzdes are looking forward to face higher ranked Lietkabelis (#3) in Panevezys in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Nevezis will play on the road against Prienai CBet and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
