Regular Season Round 13: Kirchheim - Ehingen 87-81

Rather predictable result when eleventh ranked Kirchheim Knights (5-7) defeated at home bottom-ranked Ehingen/Urspringschule (1-9) 87-81 on Monday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Kirchheim Knights made 17-of-19 free shots (89.5 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Ehingen/Urspringschule turnovers. Kirchheim Knights looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. American Kyle Leufroy (190-96, college: Lehigh) stepped up and scored 20 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 6 steals for the winners and center Andreas Kronhardt (205-89) chipped in 22 points (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). At the losing side American Christian Oshita (198-97, college: UCSD) responded with 26 points and 9 rebounds and the other American import point guard Jack Pagenkopf (190-97, college: Dixie St.) scored 15 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Kirchheim Knights moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Karlsruhe PS. Ehingen/Urspringschule lost fifth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with nine games lost. Kirchheim Knights will face Phoenix Hagen (#12) at home in the next round. Ehingen/Urspringschule will play against Walter Tigers and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
