Regular Season Round 7: Oradea - Sibiu 87-91

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of Oradea (3-1) at the home court on Tuesday night. Hosts were defeated by second ranked Sibiu (5-1) 91-87. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Oradea. The guests trailed by 5 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 7-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 91-87. It was a great shooting night for Sibiu especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Marquis Addison (193-91, college: MSSU) who helped to win the game recording 28 points. His fellow American import center Jayce Johnson (213-97, college: Marquette) contributed with 9 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. International point guard Giordan Watson (179-85, college: CMU, agency: BeoBasket) answered with 25 points and 7 assists and American guard Stephen Holt (193-91, college: St.Mary's, CA) added 17 points (made all of his seven free throws) in the effort for Oradea. Four Oradea players scored in double figures. Oradea's coach Cristian Achim rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Sibiu maintains second place with 5-1 record having just one point less than leader Cluj Napoca. Defending champion Oradea dropped to the fourth position with one game lost. Sibiu are looking forward to face Timisoara (#8) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Oradea will play against Pitesti (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
