Regular Season Round 10: Crailsheim - Ulm 86-84

Seventh-ranked ratiopharm Ulm (5-3) gave a tough game to second ranked Crailsheim Merlins (9-1) on Tuesday. Crailsheim Merlins managed to secure only two-point victory 86-84. However their fans expected much easier game. Crailsheim Merlins shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 52.0 percentage. Canadian guard Trae Bell-Haynes (188-95, college: Vermont) had a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 assists to lead the charge for the winners and American forward Haywood Highsmith (198-96, college: WJU, agency: UNLTD) chipped in 17 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side American guard Troy Caupain (193-95, college: Cincinnati) responded with 25 points and international guard Andreas Obst (191-96, agency: BeoBasket) scored 15 points. Five Crailsheim Merlins and four ratiopharm Ulm players scored in double figures. ratiopharm Ulm's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Crailsheim Merlins have an impressive six-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Ludwigsburg. ratiopharm Ulm lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventh place with three games lost. Crailsheim Merlins is looking forward to face s Oliver Baskets (#14) in Wuerzburg in the next round which should be an easy win for them. ratiopharm Ulm will play at home against Telekom Baskets (#12) and is hoping to prove to their fans that they can break losing series.
