Regular Season Round 10: Chemnitz - MBC 96-79

There was an upset when higher ranked MBC (4-5) was defeated on the road by sixteenth ranked Chemnitz (3-7) 96-79 on Wednesday. Chemnitz made 19-of-21 free shots (90.5 percent) during the game. MBC was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. American Joe Lawson (201-92, college: Indianapolis, agency: Inception Sports) scored 23 points and 5 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws) to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import guard Terrell Harris (191-93, college: Georgia Coll., agency: Players Group) chipped in 9 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists during the contest. Lawson is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. At the losing side Polish swingman Michal Michalak (196-93, agency: Octagon Europe) responded with 23 points (made all of his twelve free throws !!!) and American forward Kyndahl Hill (201-94, college: Weber St.) scored 14 points and 8 rebounds. Four MBC players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Chemnitz moved-up to fifteenth place. Loser MBC dropped to the ninth position with five games lost. Chemnitz will face higher ranked Braunschweig (#8) at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
