It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Mersin. Botas forced 19 Mersin turnovers. It was a great shooting night for Botas especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 66.7 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. American power forward Elizabeth Williams (190-93, college: Duke) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 12 rebounds for the winners and Russian forward Marina Bas (194-85) chipped in 18 points and 9 rebounds. Four Botas players scored in double figures. International Goksen Fitik (175-1) responded with 19 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and British-American power forward Kristine Anigwe (193-97, college: California) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 14 rebounds. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Botas. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Cankaya and Mersin. Botas will meet at home Besiktas (#10) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Mersin will play against Nesibe (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
