Regular Season Round 11: Saarlouis - Keltern 67-82

DBBL top team - Gruner Stern Keltern (10-1) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat twelfth ranked TV Saarlouis Royals (1-7) 82-67. Gruner Stern Keltern dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to TV Saarlouis Royals' 28. They outrebounded TV Saarlouis Royals 42-26 including 34 on the defensive glass. Gruner Stern Keltern players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. It was a great evening for Serbian point guard Sanja Mandic (178-95) who led her team to a victory scoring 15 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals. Estonian forward Mailis Pokk (186-92) helped adding 14 points and 8 rebounds. Swingman Linn Schueler (174-98) responded with 22 points and Czech point guard Gabriela Andelova (173-96) scored 11 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Gruner Stern Keltern have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 10-1 record. TV Saarlouis Royals lost third consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with seven games lost. Gruner Stern Keltern will play against Gisa Lions (#7) in Halle in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. TV Saarlouis Royals will play on the road against BasCats Heidelberg (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
