A very interesting game took place in Izmir. It ended with only one-point defeat on the road of 11th ranked Ankara Basket (5-7) to eighth ranked Bornova Bld (7-3) 87-86 on Saturday evening. Bornova Bld players were unselfish on offense dishing 28 assists. American point guard Carlos Medlock (183-87, college: EMU) fired a double-double by scoring 18 points and 13 assists for the winners. Canadian forward Kalif Young (206-97, college: Providence) chipped in a double-double by scoring 10 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. American guard Elyjah Clark (190-98, college: MSSU) produced 24 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Ogulcan Sevim (190-93) added 9 points, 7 rebounds and 11 assists respectively for lost side. Five Bornova Bld and four Ankara Basket players scored in double figures. Bornova Bld moved-up to fifth place. Ankara Basket lost third consecutive game. Ankara Basket at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the twelfth position with seven games lost. Bornova Bld's next round opponent will be league's leader Akhisar Bld at home and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Ankara Basket will play against Gemlik (#13) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
