Leader EnBW Ludwigsburg delivered the tenth win on Saturday night. This time they crushed 11th ranked Bayreuth (4-7) 89-70. EnBW Ludwigsburg shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 53.8 percentage. The game was dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was guard Jaleen Smith (193-94, college: UNH) who scored 16 points and 4 assists. Guard Barry Brown Jr (190-96, college: Kansas St.) chipped in 19 points. Guard Frank Bartley IV (190-94, college: La-Lafayette, agency: BeoBasket) produced 18 points and Matt Tiby (203-92, college: Milwaukee) added 19 points respectively for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. EnBW Ludwigsburg (10-1) have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. They maintain first place, which they share with Crailsheim. Bayreuth at the other side dropped to the twelfth position with seven games lost. EnBW Ludwigsburg is looking forward to face ratiopharm Ulm (#7) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Bayreuth will play against EWE Baskets (#3) in Oldenburg and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
