Regular Season Round 15: Gmunden - Wels 92-75

There was a small surprise when fourth ranked Gmunden Swans (9-5) beat at home second-best Raiffeisen Flyers Wels (9-7) 92-75 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Gmunden Swans. Raiffeisen Flyers Wels was better in second period 17-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Gmunden Swans looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was the former international guard Enis Murati (194-88, agency: Octagon Europe) who scored 36 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 4 assists. American forward Stephon Jelks (198-96, college: Mercer) chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds. Five Gmunden Swans players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Jarvis Ray (198-90, college: TCU) who recorded 13 points and 5 rebounds and the other American import guard Austen Awosika (190, college: CS Fullerton) added 14 points and 5 assists respectively. Raiffeisen Flyers Wels' coach rotated twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Gmunden Swans moved-up to second place, which they share with Vienna. Loser Raiffeisen Flyers Wels dropped to the fourth position with seven games lost. Gmunden Swans will face UBSC Graz (#6) at home in the next round. Raiffeisen Flyers Wels will play against UBC St. Poelten and hope to win that game.
