There was an upset when higher ranked UBSC Graz (8-7) was defeated at home by bottom-ranked Arkadia Lions (2-12) 102-90 on Saturday. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Arkadia Lions shot 61.7 percent from the field and made 21-of-23 free shots (91.3 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists. The best player for the winners was guard Luka Gvozden (184-93) who had a double-double by scoring 14 points, 7 rebounds and 15 assists. Croatian forward Dani Koljanin (202-96, college: UALR) chipped in 20 points and 8 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Stanley Whittaker (183-94, college: Keiser) who recorded a double-double by scoring 27 points, 10 assists and 4 steals and the other American import forward Kendall Pollard (198-95, college: Dayton) added 15 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists respectively. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Arkadia Lions maintains tenth place with 2-12 record. UBSC Graz lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the sixth position with seven games lost. Arkadia Lions will face higher ranked Kapfenberg Bulls (#5) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
