Regular Season Round 14: Jena - Ehingen 107-79
Date: January 2, 2021
Very expected game when 15th ranked Ehingen/Urspringschule (1-9) was smashed on the road by fourth ranked Science City Jena (6-2) 107-79 on Saturday. Science City Jena outrebounded Ehingen/Urspringschule 39-23 including 28 on the defensive glass. They shot the lights out from three sinking 16 long-distance shots on high 57.1 percentage. Science City Jena looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Ehingen/Urspringschule's players. Julius Wolf (203-93) notched 20 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and center Robin Lodders (206-94) supported him with 17 points and 5 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). Five Science City Jena players scored in double figures. Even 16 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) by American DeQuan Abrom (188-96, college: Belm.Abbey) did not help to save the game for Ehingen/Urspringschule. His fellow American import Kameron Hankerson (196-98, college: Green Bay) added 16 points for the guests. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Science City Jena have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place. Ehingen/Urspringschule lost fifth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with nine games lost. Science City Jena will meet Phoenix Hagen (#12) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Ehingen/Urspringschule will play against Uni Baskets and hope to win that game.
