Regular Season Round 14: Art.Dragons - Hagen 108-88

No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked Artland Dragons (6-3) crushed 12th ranked Phoenix Hagen (3-6) in Quakenbrueck 108-88 on Saturday. Artland Dragons dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Phoenix Hagen's 30. They outrebounded Phoenix Hagen 43-18 including a 31-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. Artland Dragons looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. American Chase Griffin (190-83, college: Pepperdine) notched 21 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and naturalized American point guard Zachary Ensminger (195-1) supported him with 16 points and 5 assists. Even 17 points and 5 assists by American Jermaine Bishop (185-97, college: Norfolk St.) did not help to save the game for Phoenix Hagen. Dominik Spohr (198-89) added 17 points for the guests. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Artland Dragons moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Bremerhaven. Loser Phoenix Hagen keeps the twelfth position with six games lost. Artland Dragons will meet Kirchheim Knights (#10) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Phoenix Hagen will play against Science City Jena and hope to secure a win.
