Very important is a road loss of second ranked Muenster (7-4) against seventh ranked Schwelm (5-5) on Saturday night. Visiting Muenster was defeated by Schwelm in a tough game in Schwelm 86-94. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Muenster. Schwelm players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Montrael Scott (191-93, college: PVAMU) who helped to win the game recording 22 points and 8 assists and the former international center Daniel Mayr (218-95) who added 13 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was American point guard Marck Coffin (193-91, college: Idaho Coll.) with 16 points and 9 rebounds and Jan Koenig (201-93) scored 16 points and 6 rebounds. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Muenster's coach Phillip Kappenstein rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Schwelm maintains seventh position in North with 5-5 record. Muenster at the other side dropped to the third place with four games lost. Schwelm will play against higher ranked Koeln (#5) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Muenster will play against the league's second-placed Itzehoe where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
