The game between closely ranked teams ended with twelfth ranked Merkezefendi's (6-7) home victory over 13th ranked Final Spor (4-8) in Denizl 74-57 on Saturday. They outrebounded Final Spor 46-35 including 16 on the offensive glass. It was a very good performance for forward Gokhan Yazicioglu (200-90) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds. American point guard Chauncey Collins (183-95, college: TCU, agency: Alti Sport) contributed with 18 points and 4 assists for the winners. Four Merkezefendi players scored in double figures. Merkezefendi's coach Sahin Atesdagli used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Swingman Gokturk Ural (196-95) answered with 16 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists and forward Murat Erensoy (201-91) added 16 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Final Spor. Merkezefendi moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Sigortam.net. Final Spor lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fifteenth position with eight games lost. Merkezefendi will face bottom-ranked Istanbul (#16) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Final Spor will play against the league's leader Akhisar Bld having rather not much hope for a victory.
