Regular Season Round 14: Kirchheim - Nuernberg 101-63

Everything went according to plan when eleventh ranked Kirchheim Knights (5-7) outplayed at home 13th ranked Nuernberg (2-5) 101-63 on Saturday. Kirchheim Knights made 17-of-20 free shots (85.0 percent) during the game. Kirchheim Knights outrebounded Nuernberg 30-18 including a 13-1 advantage in offensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 57.1 percentage. Kirchheim Knights looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. American Kyle Leufroy (190-96, college: Lehigh) notched 18 points to lead the effort and the other American import Max Mahoney (203-98, college: Boston U.) supported him with 13 points. Even 12 points by center Moritz Sanders (210-98) did not help to save the game for Nuernberg. American Jackson Kent (196-93, college: JMU) added 13 points for the guests. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Kirchheim Knights moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Karlsruhe PS. Nuernberg lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fourteenth position with five games lost. Kirchheim Knights will meet at home higher ranked Artland Dragons (#5) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Nuernberg will play against Lions (#9) in Karlsruhe and hope to secure a win.
