Regular Season Round 15: Juventus - Siauliai 96-82

Very expected game in Utena where 10th ranked Siauliai (2-9) was defeated by fifth ranked Juventus (7-4) 96-82. The game was mostly controlled by Juventus. Siauliai was better in fourth quarter 23-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a good game for power forward Zygimantas Skucas (201-92) who led his team to a victory with 20 points and 5 rebounds. The former international guard Martynas Gecevicius (193-88) contributed with 14 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Icelandic point guard Elvar Fridriksson (180-94, college: Barry) answered with 16 points and the former international guard Mindaugas Lukauskis (198-79) added 10 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Siauliai. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the third consecutive win for Juventus. They moved-up to fourth place. Siauliai at the other side stay at the bottom position with nine games lost. Juventus' next round opponent will be Dzukija (#9) in Alytus which should be theoretically an easy game. Siauliai will play on the road against Neptunas in Klaipeda and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
