Date: January 3, 2021
ProA top team - Rostock (9-2) had no problems winning another game on Sunday. This time they crushed ninth ranked Lions (5-7) 93-68. Rostock looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American forward Keith Wright (203-89, college: Harvard) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!). Iranian Behnam Yakhchali (194-95) contributed with 17 points and 6 assists for the winners. Four Rostock players scored in double figures. Czech center Adam Pechacek (206-95) replied with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds and Antonio Pilipovic (198-97) added 19 points in the effort for Lions. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Rostock maintains first position with 9-2 record. Lions at the other side keep the ninth place with seven games lost. They share the position with Kirchheim. Rostock are looking forward to face Schwenningen (#6) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Lions will play against Nuernberg and are hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
