Bottom-ranked Fethiye managed to get a fourth victory, breaking the series of six consecutive losses. This time newly promoted Fethiye won against sixth-ranked Afyon Bld 100-89. Fethiye shot the lights out from three nailing 14 long-distance shots on high 56.0 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 29 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Elgin Cook (197-93, college: Oregon, agency: BeoBasket) who led the winners and scored 23 points and 4 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). His fellow American import guard Branden Frazier (190-92, college: Fordham, agency: BeoBasket) accounted for 21 points and 6 assists for the winning side. Mexican Francisco Cruz (191-89, college: Wyoming) came up with 26 points and 6 assists and American point guard Chris Wright (185-89, college: Georgetown) added 17 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists respectively for Afyon Bld in the defeat. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Fethiye (4-11) moved-up to fifteenth place. Afyon Bld at the other side dropped to the eighth position with eight games lost. They share it with Besiktas. Fethiye will again play against higher ranked Afyon Bld (#9) in Afyonkarahisar in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Afyon Bld will have a break next round.
