Regular Season Round 15: Prienai CBet - Nevezis 87-85

The most exciting game of round 15 in the LKL took place in Prienai. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 6th ranked Nevezis (5-7) to eighth ranked Prienai CBet (5-9) 87-85 on Sunday evening. Nevezis was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Prienai CBet made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for American point guard Marquis Wright (185-95, college: Siena) who led his team to a victory scoring 19 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals. Guard Dominykas Domarkas (190-92) helped adding 16 points and 5 assists. Prienai CBet's coach Mantas Sernius used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. The best for the losing side was Greek swingman Panagiotis Kalaitzakis (197-99) with 21 points and 8 assists and American guard Sedrick Barefield (188-96, college: Utah, agency: Wasserman) scored 21 points and 4 assists. Five Prienai CBet and four Nevezis players scored in double figures. Prienai CBet moved-up to seventh place. Nevezis lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with seven games lost. Prienai CBet are looking forward to face league's leader Zalgiris in Kaunas in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Nevezis will play on the road against the league's second-placed Lietkabelis (#2) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
