Rather predictable result when fifth ranked Academik Plovdiv (5-4) defeated at home 8th ranked Cherno More (2-7) 87-72. Academik Plovdiv forced 19 Cherno More turnovers and had a 34-23 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. Croatian forward Jere Vucica (206-92, college: Miami, OH) notched a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds to lead the effort and American power forward Tony Gugino (207-86, college: Hillsdale) supported him with 10 points and 8 rebounds. Five Academik Plovdiv players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 15 points and 11 rebounds by guard Martin Kotsev (195-98) did not help to save the game for Cherno More. Guard Aleksandar Milov (198-95) added 13 points and 7 rebounds for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. Academik Plovdiv moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Beroe. Cherno More lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with seven games lost. They share it with Spartak Pleven. Academik Plovdiv will play against league's leader Rilski in Samokov in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Cherno More will play at home against Yambol (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
