Regular Season Round 12: Vechta - Bamberg 90-82

Rasta Vechta's fans can finally celebrate the first win of their team after 11 consecutive losses. The victory is especially important as they defeated much higher ranked Brose Bamberg (5-7) 90-82 on Friday. Rasta Vechta shot the lights out from three sinking 15 long-distance shots on high 55.6 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The winners were led by Belgian Jean Salumu (193-90) who scored that evening 25 points and 4 assists and American guard Joshua Young (184-88, college: Drake) supported him with 16 points and 8 assists. Rasta Vechta's coach Thomas Paech used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Even 18 points and 7 assists by American guard Devon Hall (196-95, college: Virginia, agency: Octagon Europe) did not help to save the game for Brose Bamberg. The former international swingman Dominic Lockhart (198-94) added 14 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Rasta Vechta maintains eighteenth position with 1-11 record. Loser Brose Bamberg dropped to the ninth place with seven games lost. Rasta Vechta will meet at home higher ranked 46ers (#17) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Brose Bamberg will play against the league's leader EnBW Ludwigsburg (#1) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
