Regular Season Round 15: Ternopil-TNEU - Prometey 98-91

Very important is a road loss of third ranked Prometey (9-5) against fifth ranked Ternopil-TNEU (8-6) on Friday night. Visiting Prometey was defeated by Ternopil-TNEU in a tough game in Ternopil 91-98. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Prometey. The hosts were ahead by 2 points but lost the second period ending it with a 11-point deficit before their 36-18 run, which allowed them to win the game. It was a great shooting night for Ternopil-TNEU especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 57.9 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Prometey was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Americans were the main players on the court. It was an exceptional evening for point guard Adrian Bowie (189-89, college: Maryland) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 5 rebounds and 13 assists. Guard Omar Calhoun (198-93, college: UConn, agency: Players Group) accounted for 22 points and 5 rebounds (perfect behind the arc making all five shots) for the winning side. Forward Mike Myers (206-92, college: UMES, agency: Network Sports International) came up with 14 points and 4 assists and swingman DJ Stephens (195-90, college: Memphis) added 12 points, 8 rebounds and 4 blocks respectively for Prometey in the defeat. Five Ternopil-TNEU and four Prometey players scored in double figures. Newly promoted Ternopil-TNEU maintains fifth place with 8-6 record. Prometey at the other side keeps the third position with five games lost. Ternopil-TNEU will play against Zaporizhye (#6) in Zaporozhye in the next round. Prometey will play on the road against the league's leader Kyiv Basket and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
