Regular Season Round 16: Triglav - Ilrija 78-62

No shocking result in a game when second ranked Triglav (14-2) beat 6th ranked Ilrija (5-11) in Kranj 78-62 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Triglav. Ilrija managed to win second period 25-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 16-of-18 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. Triglav forced 21 Ilrija turnovers and outrebounded them 38-25 including a 30-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international point guard Rebeka Abramovic (172-93) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Ajda Burgar (176-1) contributed with 12 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Four Triglav players scored in double figures. Triglav's coach Gasper Sluga used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Point guard Hana Sambolic (181-4) replied with 14 points and 5 rebounds and point guard Sara Sambolic (167-4) added 15 points in the effort for Ilrija. Triglav have a solid three-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Celje. Ilrija at the other side keeps the sixth place with 11 games lost. Triglav is looking forward to face bottom-ranked Maribor (#8) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Ilrija will play against the league's leader Celje and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
