Regular Season Round 14: Duzce - Yalova 70-79

There was a surprise result when fourteenth ranked Yalova (5-7) defeated on the road higher ranked Duzce Belediye (7-7) 79-70 on Saturday. Strangely Duzce Belediye outrebounded Yalova 49-33 including 17 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Duzce Belediye's players. American point guard Lamont Jones (183-90, college: Iona) had a double-double by scoring 12 points, 6 rebounds and 16 assists to lead the charge for the winners and power forward Ali Isik (206-90) chipped in 10 points and 11 rebounds during the contest. Five Yalova players scored in double figures. American guard Desi Washington (188-92, college: St.Peter's) responded with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and American-Jamaican forward Joel James (208-94, college: UNC) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Yalova have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to thirteenth place. Loser Duzce Belediye keeps the ninth position with seven games lost. Yalova will face higher ranked Mamak (#6) in Ankara in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
