Regular Season Round 17: Besiktas - Bursaspor 69-84

Bottom-ranked Bursaspor managed to get the second consecutive victory on Saturday night. This time newly promoted Bursaspor won against sixth-ranked Besiktas in Istanbul 84-69. It's especially surprising that the victory came too easily and 15-point difference proves that Bursaspor was well-prepared to that game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American guard Xavier Munford (193-92, college: URI) orchestrated the victory by scoring 25 points. Cameroonian forward Kenny Kadji (211-88, college: Miami, FL, agency: Octagon Europe) contributed with 16 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Four Bursaspor players scored in double figures. Bursaspor's coach Dusan Alimpijevic used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. International power forward Alperen Sengun (205-2) answered with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 14 rebounds and American guard James Blackmon Jr (193-95, college: Indiana) added 15 points in the effort for Besiktas. Bursaspor (5-11) moved-up to fourteenth place, which they share with Galatasaray. Besiktas at the other side dropped to the eighth position with nine games lost. They share it with Gaziantep and Buyukcekmece. Bursaspor is looking forward to face bottom-ranked Fethiye (#16) at home in the next round. Besiktas' supporters also look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Istanbul to the arena Fenerbahce.
