Very predictable result when fifth ranked Tofas (8-7) won against 10th ranked Acibadem (7-10) in Bursa 87-80. Tofas dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Acibadem's 34. They outrebounded Acibadem 37-24 including 27 on the defensive glass. Tofas players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. The best player for the winners was British-American guard Tarik Phillip (191-93, college: WVU) who scored 14 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. International point guard Berk Ugurlu (192-96) chipped in 14 points, 5 assists and 4 steals. Four Tofas players scored in double figures. American guard Erick Green (190-91, college: Virginia Tech, agency: Octagon Europe) produced 27 points and 6 rebounds and the other American import guard Shannon Evans-II (185-94, college: ASU) added 20 points and 7 assists respectively for the guests. Acibadem's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. The victory was the third consecutive win for Tofas. They maintain fifth place with 8-7 record. Acibadem at the other side dropped to the eleventh position with ten games lost. Tofas' next round opponent will be Buyukcekmece (#10) on the road which should be theoretically an easy game. Acibadem's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Istanbul Dacka.
