Bottom-ranked Istanbul (0-14) is still winless. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their 14th consecutive match to tenth ranked Merkezefendi (7-7) 84-59 on Saturday evening. Merkezefendi had a 33-19 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Bahamas center Dwight Coleby (206-94, college: WKU) had a double-double by scoring 18 points and 13 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and American point guard Chauncey Collins (183-95, college: TCU, agency: Alti Sport) chipped in 20 points and 8 assists during the contest. American forward James White (204-93, college: Georgia Tech) responded with 22 points and 7 rebounds and forward Yigitcan Saybir (203-99) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Merkezefendi moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Duzce. Istanbul at the other side, also newcomer in the league, still closes the standings with 14 games lost. Merkezefendi will face Duzce Belediye (#10) at home in the next round. Istanbul will play against the league's leader Akhisar Bld (#1) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
