There was no surprise when 15th ranked Istanbul Univ. (1-7) was defeated at home by sixth ranked Urla (5-2) 67-59. Urla forced 20 Istanbul Univ. turnovers. The winners were led by American forward Marie Benson (185-97, college: UT Arlington) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 19 points and 14 rebounds and Yagmur Tasar (173-99) supported her with 13 points, 5 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals. Even a double-double of 15 points and 13 rebounds by American center Brandi Harvey-Carr (193-94, college: Pittsburgh) did not help to save the game for Istanbul Univ.. Guard Ceren Gokdemir (177-92) added 8 points and 7 assists for the hosts. Urla moved-up to fifth place. Istanbul Univ. lost sixth consecutive game.
