The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Amager (7-2) in Kastrup on Saturday night. Hosts were edged by second ranked Herlev (7-3) 73-71. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Amager. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. The guests trailed by 5 points at the halftime before their 22-11 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Herlev forced 22 Amager turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of international forward Laura Ziegler (186-2) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 25 points and 11 rebounds and international forward Emilie Hesseldal (186-90, college: Colorado St.) who added 12 points, 13 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals during the contest. Amager's coach Lars Klussmann tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Herlev maintains second position with 7-3 record having just one point less than leader Amager. Amager at the other side still keeps top place with two games lost. Herlev will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Amager will play on the road against Horsholm and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
