A very interesting game took place in Hannover. It ended with only three-point home defeat of 11th ranked Hannover (2-9) to fifth ranked Eisvogel Freiburg (6-5) 75-72 on Sunday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. Eisvogel Freiburg outrebounded Hannover 37-26 including 25 on the defensive glass. It was a good game for Canadian guard Daneesha Provo (183-96, college: Utah) who led her team to a victory with 21 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). American center Cassidy Boensch (195-98, college: GVSU) contributed with 18 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. American point guard Stephanie Gardner (170-92, college: ODU) replied with 17 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and Croatian forward Mia Masic (180-93) added 14 points in the effort for Hannover. Eisvogel Freiburg moved-up to fourth place. Hannover lost seventh consecutive game. They dropped to the bottom position with nine games lost. Eisvogel Freiburg's next round opponent will be TV Saarlouis Royals (#10) at home where they are favorite. Hannover will play against Herner TC and hope to win that game.
