There was a minor upset when 7th ranked Gaziantep (7-9) lost at home to ninth ranked Afyon Bld (8-9) 88-84. Afyon Bld outrebounded Gaziantep 45-34 including 30 on the defensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. Afyon Bld brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. The best player for the winners was American point guard Chris Wright (185-89, college: Georgetown) who had a double-double by scoring 15 points and 16 assists. Mexican Francisco Cruz (191-89, college: Wyoming) chipped in 20 points and 5 assists. Point guard Ismail-Cem Ulusoy (183-96) produced 9 points, 9 rebounds, 14 assists and 5 steals and Croatian guard Marko Tomas (200-85) added 22 points respectively for the hosts. Five Afyon Bld and four Gaziantep players scored in double figures. Afyon Bld moved-up to sixth place. Gaziantep lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the eighth position with nine games lost. Afyon Bld's next round opponent will be Socar Petkim (#12) at home which should be theoretically an easy game. Gaziantep will play against the league's second-placed Pinar Karsiyaka (#2) and hope to win that game.
